Say “Yes” to Life

Behind every PROBLEM, there is a QUESTION trying to ask itself...
Behind every question there is an ANSWER trying to reveal itself.
Behind every answer there is an ACTION trying to take place.
And behind every action there is A WAY OF LIFE trying to be born.

~Michael Beckwith

In an era of suicide bombers, it is ever more challenging to say, “Yes,” to life. Yet the opposite is totally unacceptable. With such global issue as climate change looming ever larger, it is easy to lose touch with Who You Are. It is harder to believe you could make a difference, much less that you are “The Chosen One,” as Neo in Matrix.

In all of this, we look at Reverend Michael Beckwith, star of the runaway bestseller, The Secret. Michael has embodied the spirit of affirmation for over 30 years with his Agape International Spiritual Center. Michael embodies affirmation on a profound level, much like Michael Jackson in his classic, “Man in the Mirror.” Michael affirms, not just with his head, but with both his heart and his soul.

Michael is gifted with the ability to have his audience literally jump out of their chairs for joy. Who else today can do as much? He offers his own secret in the “Life Visioning Process.” Michael is utterly convinced that WE ARE ALL MAGNIFICENT. He won’t let you slip behind the cracks with anything less. The following questions touch on his core insights, insights that could change your life.

What Is Your Highest Possibility in This Life?

On a soul level, you are not here by accident. You have a hidden purpose, which may not be clear to you just yet. When Buddha met his prospective disciples, he confronted them with the highest possibility in their incarnation. He expected each and every one of them to seek and eventually realize enlightenment.

You job and your role in life today may not reflect your true work, what you came here to do. You will never be happy, no matter how much outward success you accrue, until you find out how to make a difference. You have talents, which, in all likelihood, you underestimate. Years ago, a TV executive told me that I was the best networker she had ever met. I wish that I had done more with that.

You can reach people I cannot reach. You know exactly what to say, what to do to capture their attention and awaken them to the Big Picture. If we want to heal Planet Earth from global warming and other scourges, it is going to take all of us. It is most certainly going to take YOU.

What in This Life Wants to Be Born in You?

If you look deep within, you will find something that you want to share and say. You have some sort of dream that you want to make real. I felt that we have everything we need to transform this world into paradise, if we could only awaken collectively. I moved into action when I realized that I had a book within me that had yet to be written. I didn’t want to die without that book falling into your hands.

You may enjoy drawing or painting, taking photographs or making crafts. You consider it just a hobby. It doesn’t mean anything.

life passion

Everybody can do just as well as you. What you have put together is trivial. SAY’S WHO? What makes you an artist, poet or musician is your willingness to feel like a fool, because you declare yourself to be an artist, poet or musician.

All of your ideas may not be immediately practical. However, there may be one or two that inspire a mastermind. You can design a program or even company to put it into place. Choose the idea that is most exciting, where you can see it actually happening, although you can’t figure out how to do it. Jesse Jackson’s initiative with citizen diplomacy comes to mind, where he actually brought back by himself political prisoners from the Middle East.

What Must You Let Go of First?

While you may be asked to let go of many things, the most likely ones will be all of your limiting beliefs of how it can’t be done, you’re not the one and the job is far too big for you.

You might nurse the thought that there is no market for what you do. Can you fly human beings to Mars? Theoretically, but there is no market for this. Ridiculous! Of course there is no market, because no one but Elon Musk has made an all-out effort to make this happen.

If you can only get to neutral, you can begin to see miracles. Jesus Christ, as the Great Physician, got people to accept a new possibility, and then they were whole again. He pushed this to an extreme when He persuaded his close friends to accept that He could raise His friend, Lazarus, from the dead…after three days in the tomb! The subsequent emergence of Christianity, the world’s largest faith, suggests that this actually happened.

What Must You Embrace Next?

You must open your heart to the Universe. As Michael Beckwith suggests, find God as a Universal Presence of Unconditional Love. You were born to succeed in your life mission, not fail. God is behind you and within you to successfully accomplish the “impossible.”

A transformed life requires a mission, vision and message. All great prophets had this. Abraham had this. Moses had this. Jesus had this. Mohammad had this. Gandhi had this. You can have it, too. When you invite the Infinite into your life, the Infinite will come. When you ask for a mission, the mission will emerge. You will find that you simply haven’t been listening.

When you’ve got your mission, your vision will emerge. From your vision, you will find your message. You are here to say something to humanity in your own unique way. It will ultimately be some version of “I LOVE YOU.” But coming from your lips, you will say it in such a way that it is totally fresh. People will actually start listening.

What Is Your Vision for the World?

In 1980, a famous actor, Ronald Reagan, ran for President. Reagan had a vision that the hopeless Cold War, which had gone on for a generation, could actually end. When he became President, he initiated the “Star Wars” program. As Reagan went along, he began listening to the people and realized that the Cold War could be ended by building a relationship with “The Evil Empire.”

When President Reagan’s hour came in November 1985, he met with General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev and mutually brought an end to the Cold War in less than a year after Gorbachev assumed power. Reagan returned to a standing ovation from both Houses of Congress. Far more important, he did a huge amount by the end of his second term to normalize relations with what was then the “Soviet Union.”

Today, the world faces different challenges that in Reagan’s day, but equally pressing. There are huge opportunities in every institution of society. Government, military, corporations, education, media and religion are all undergoing massive transformation. The old rules are obsolete. The new rules have yet to be written. Why can’t you step in?

What Can You Do to Get Going?

All of this may seem overwhelming. Yet, as Tony Robbins has pointed out, it all happens step by step, day by day. You only need to do ONE THING to move into gear. The most practical thing is to find a vision, a cause that truly speaks to you. Focus on it. Ask the Universe how you can make a difference. Then find like-minded, like-hearted people who will support you in this cause.

What is most ironic is that, despite there being a proliferation of worthwhile causes, from animal rights to ending child abuse to saving the rain forests, people are much more willing to follow someone who knows where they are going than to seize the initiative themselves.

If your vision is worthwhile, you will know it. It will never leave you. Mahatma Gandhi dreamed of equal rights for all nations and races under the British Crown. Within 50 years, he successfully brought down the British Empire while remaining friends with the British.

Jesse Jackson, when running for President all the way back in 1984, put it best when he quoted a children’s hymn:
Red and Yellow, Black and White. We are all precious in His sight.

God as Universal Presence, sees you as infinitely precious. He sees Himself in you, and you in Himself. If you come to accept this as a fact, your world will never be the same!
